Colorado’s two U.S. Senators might want to be out of town on Monday — their Denver offices are going to be swamped with activists who are wary of national Republicans’ offers on the so-called “fiscal cliff.” The activists’ motto is simplicity itself — “No deal is better than a bad deal.”
According to a press release, more than 150 people will appear at the offices of U.S. Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They’ll rotate every 20 minutes in groups of 24 delegations of citizens.
Bennet’s office is at 1127 Sherman St., suite 150. Udall’s office is at 999 18th St.
The activists want the senators “to heed the will of Colorado voters, and extend tax cuts for middle class families, end tax breaks for the richest two percent and protect vital services Coloradans depend on like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and education.”
Members of at least 17 political groups will take part, including the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative, Colorado Fair Share, Colorado Progressive Coalition, ProgressNow Colorado, Mi Familia Vota, the Colorado AFL-CIO, Colorado WINS, the Service Employees International Union Local 105, and many more.
hmmm…..why the Senators when it is the knuckle dragging corporate lap dog zipper lickers in the House of (mis)Representatives that are the ones working to destroy the Nation?
since the house has pass bills that would haved save this nation, the Dem Control Senate is who is working on destroying this nation.
By all means let’s go over the cliff. Higher taxes for everybody, that’s only “fair”, as Obama keeps saying. Obama won’t negotiate, show him the gate.
