Pre-caucus: Santorum back in the Springs, Romney and Gingrich campaign in Colorado

February 6th, 2012, 8:00 pm · 6 Comments · posted by

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, a former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, campaigned in Colorado Springs and Woodland Park last week, but it looks likes that wasn’t enough for him. He’ll be back Tuesday morning, and will hold a rally at Giuseppe’s Depot, at 10 South Sierra Madre Street.

Santorum drew enormous crowds last week at both rallies, and has the backing of many big-name conservatives in El Paso County, including Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson.

According to The Denver Post, Santorum will also be at an energy summit in Golden Monday, at 3 p.m. From there, he’ll hold a 7:30 p.m. rally Monday evening at The Cable Center, in Denver.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich are also making appearances throughout the state before Colorado Republicans begin caucusing.

Here are the details on the other campaign events:

Romney was in Grand Junction Monday at noon, and will be in Centennial Monday night, at Arapahoe High School, at 6:15. He’s also going to make an appearance in Loveland tomorrow morning and then hold another Denver event Tuesday night.

Gringrich campaigned at the Marriott Denver West in Golden on Monday morning, and will attend an energy summit at the School of Mines at 2 p.m. He’s then taking off for Minnesota.

Texas Congressman Ron Paul is the only candidate who will not be making a last-minute appearance in Colorado.
